Autumn transitions with Maria Galanopoulou

AUTUMN TRANSITIONS
An introductory workshop in Dance Movement Therapy
with Maria Galanopoulou

In this workshop we will bring awareness to the transitions our bodies make, as we adjust to the new season.
Autumn is here and it invites us towards more inward movement, slowing down and seeking extra warmth.
Each body has its own rhythm, its own pace, and its own way of moving through transitions. Some of these adjustments are conscious choices, while many happen beneath our awareness.

This is an introductory workshop in Dance Movement Therapy, a psychotherapeutic approach grounded in the belief our body, mind, spirit are viewed as a whole, not as separate parts, but as continuously interconnected.
Dance Movement Therapy makes use of both verbal and non verbal communication, movement improvisation, rhythm, props, group dynamics and different forms of art. It draws from psychological theories, dance theory and practice, neuroscience, anthropology and other relevant fields.
